Welcome to the Llanrwst Canoe Club website

About the Club

The club was formed in 2003 with the aim of providing people of all ages and abilities in the Llanrwst area, with the opportunity to sample and/or develop canoe and/or kayak skills and have some fun in the process.

The club currently has both adult members and juniors under 18. The club owns an impressive array of boats and kit thanks to various grants and donations.

The club aims to promote all aspects of paddle sport and we currently have members regularly taking part in:

  • Flat water kayaking
  • White water kayaking
  • Open (Canadian) canoeing
  • Sea kayaking
  • The club encourages members to undertake safety training (eg Paddlesport Safety and Rescue, Introduction to White Water Safety, White Water Safety, Sea Kayak Safety and Rescue) and First Aid training. Where there is sufficient interest from members for a particular course, the club will negotiate with a local provider or centre to run the course often in collaboration with another local club. Affiliation with Outdoor Partnership means that members who would like to lead or coach at club sessions can undertake training and assessment at a highly subsidised rate of £20 per day. Outdoor Partnership will also support First Aid training. Training and assessment for Personal Performance Awards in white water kayaking, sea kayaking and canoeing can also be organised depending on interest.

If you would like to know more about training or BCAB courses and awards, please contact Chloe Perks (coaching@llanrwstcanoeclub.org) or any member of the committee.
